4 simple fitness tips that hundreds of celebrities use

There’s a reason why so many A-list stars look flawless in their photoshoots, films and on the red carpet. While Photoshop often has something to do with it, there are many celebrities that can pull off a perfect body with little to no help from airbrushing. How do they achieve this? Here are some great tips from Hollywood’s most accomplished performers, like Cameron Diaz and Kim Kardashian.
Morning workouts are prime
Christina Applegate, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu all reportedly follow a morning routine of exercise. Working out in the morning is a great way to start the day because it helps boost your metabolism and gives you an excellent adrenaline kick (especially when you’re feeling groggy or tired).
Starving yourself is not the answer
Jennifer Aniston’s personal trainer, Kathy Kaehler, has warned people against fasting. Fasting can undermine your ability to put on bulk, tone and even lose weight. It can have the opposite effect of encouraging your body to put on weight because your metabolism will be slowed.
Make time for exercise daily
Consistency is critical to maintaining your body shape and your overall health. Gunnar Peterson, a personal trainer who has helped celebrities like Sofia Vergara, Halle Berry and Kim Kardashian, encourages people to make time for their exercise. Make sure your goals are accurate and reasonable, so if that means doing a little bit less than usual, then that’s ok.
Yoga and stretching should be included
Most people don’t stretch enough when they work out, which can cause unnecessary injury. Working out shouldn’t be about punishing the body – in fact, it’s the opposite. Yoga is especially valuable if you want to keep your mind and body active, while reducing your stress. Consider subbing out a day at the gym for a yoga session – you’ll probably find your workouts are more efficient this way.

Need a new movie this weekend? Check out these celebrity movie favorites

There are so many great movies to watch. Each year brings new films, new stories, new characters and new methods of filmmaking. Whether it be classics from a bygone era or innovative dramas released in the 21st century, here are some celeb movie favourites that might be worth watching soon.
High Noon (1952) was a presidential favourite
High Noon (1952) stars Gary Cooper as former marshal, Will Kane, who is forced to face off against a criminal he helped put away. Former Presidents Ronald Reagan (himself a former actor), Bill Clinton and Dwight Eisenhower reportedly loved the film and considered it a favourite. Former President Obama is a massive fan of The Godfather trilogy.
Tom Hanks loves 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
Acclaimed actor, Tom Hanks, reportedly adores Stanley Kubrick’s groundbreaking sci-fi adventure. Hanks loves the film so much that he has supposedly seen the movie upwards of forty times. Don’t believe it? Check out his fan website!
Heath Ledger’s favourite film is a surprise
Heath Ledger tragically passed away in early 2008, a mere 6 months after finishing up filming on the set of The Dark Knight. His performance as the Joker brought him widespread acclamation and praise, however, all awards received were posthumous. Ledger supposedly loved the film The Wizard of Oz (1939) – a surprise for many people. His reason was simple – it was the only film his parents allowed him to watch as a young child.
Richard Nixon was obsessed with Patton (1970)
In line with the presidential vein, former President Richard Nixon was obsessed with the acclaimed war epic, Patton. The former President would watch the film again and again at the White House, encouraging his staff to view it. Prior to the US invading Cambodia in April 1970, President Nixon screened the film three times.

Top 3 healthy meals from celebrity chefs

Healthy cooking can be a massive challenge, especially if you have a hectic schedule where you don’t have much time to spend on food. However, if you have a family with young children, you must promote positive, healthy eating habits at mealtime. Think you could do with a helping hand? Here are some great healthy recipes from the world’s most famous culinary artists.
Honey-glazed carrots and parsnips, Gordon Ramsay
Gordon Ramsay is well known for his temper, and of course, his food. If you’re looking for something healthy and delicious, then Ramsay’s glazed vegetable dish is a must-try. The veggies are roasted with star anise, thyme, cinnamon and honey, culminating in a sweet and sticky glaze that you’ll be adding to every Sunday roast.
Chopped salad, Bobby Flay
Bobby Flay’s chopped salad is technically called “Sophie’s Chopped Salad” – which is the name of Bobby’s daughter. It contains a range of nutritious, healthy greens, which are essential to every type of diet. It also includes tomatoes, chickpeas, red beans, olives, cheddar cheese and tortilla chips for garnish. A simple, easy-to-make salad that everyone will enjoy.
Broccoli sautéed in wine and garlic, Mario Batali
According to Batali, this is one of his favourite recipes. It’s simple, delicious and very healthy. All you need is 1 head of broccoli, 1 orange and 1 lemon (all fresh). Side ingredients include olive oil, garlic, white wine and hot red pepper flakes. Using a sauté pan, heat the oil with the garlic until it begins sizzling. Once it’s sizzling, add the broccoli to the pan and commence adding wine to the pan, as this will keep the garlic from browning. Cook until the broccoli stalks are tender (usually 8-10 minutes), before adding red pepper flakes and the lemon and orange zest.

Things Kim Kardashian always brings when travelling

Kim Kardashian recently disclosed to some of her most loyal followers some items that she deems to be the most essential to her when travelling. In case you missed out on what the business mogul and reality television star packs for her vacations and business trips, then make sure you read on.
Silk sleeping pillow
For those long flight times, Kim reportedly brings sleep silk travel set, which includes a small pillow, silk mask and pillowcase. For anyone else thinking of doing this, using a pillow reduces bedhead and split ends.
Knee-high socks
Kim also recommends packing a nice pair of knee-high socks. They’re comfortable and can be worn under long pants and trousers. They also don’t take up a considerable amount of space in your carry-on, so make sure you pick a lightweight pair for easy packing.
Jet lag mask
It turns out that there is a product designed specifically for jet lag. It’s a hydrating mask and moisturising kit that many celebrities use, especially for long flights. Kim Kardashian isn’t the only celebrity out there endorsing this message either – Jessica Alba has been approving these products for a while.
Cuticle pen
If you need a manicure on the go, then this cuticle pen is a necessity for those long flights where there isn’t much to do. Kim Kardashian encourages her followers to use a practical, albeit expensive, cuticle pen that dispenses hydrating oil. What’s so good about this product is it dispenses microscopic amounts of oil, so you don’t have to worry about making a mess.
Chic throw
Let’s face it, the blankets they provide you on flights are terrible. They’re paper-thin, flimsy and there’s no way you’re retaining any warmth with them. This is why Kim has been packing her own chic throw blanket for years, designed specifically for every extended flight she goes on.
